Understanding the architecture, interfaces, workspace context, and connected capabilities of the Unified Developer Experience Platform.
IOBend is a Unified Developer Experience Platform connecting the tools, environments, projects, infrastructure, intelligence, integrations, and workflows developers use to build, manage, and ship software.
Traditional software engineering forces developers to manage isolated tooling: fragmented secret files (.env), mismatched language compiler versions, manual environment context switching, and disjointed CI/CD pipelines. IOBend eliminates this friction by unifying these disconnected capabilities into a single developer experience across your terminal, web console, and code editor.
It is important to understand the relationship between the Platform and the Ecosystem:
The IOBend Platform is the cohesive product experience—comprising the central Web Console, CLI engine, secret vault, RBAC governance, and project runtime synchronization engine.
The IOBend Ecosystem encompasses all the participating interfaces, client SDKs, IDE extensions, third-party integrations (GitHub, Vercel, Vault, AWS), Terraform providers, and developer workflows that connect into the platform.
The core design principle of IOBend is contextual continuity. Regardless of whether a developer interacts through the terminal CLI, the Web Console, or the VS Code extension, they are acting on the exact same project, environment, and security context:

Running iobend login initiates a temporary local server, opens the Web Console for secure authorization, and securely transfers cryptographic credentials.
Every terminal machine is registered in the cloud console (/devices). Workspace admins can review active machines and revoke tokens on demand.
Running iobend sync synchronizes project dependencies, discovered runtimes, and masked configurations directly into the Web Project Hub.
The IOBend VS Code Extension extends the unified developer experience directly into the editor. Rather than replacing the CLI, it bridges the IDE workspace with local configuration files (.iobend/project.json, iobend.toml) and delegates execution to the platform engine:
In accordance with our platform integrity guidelines, here is the verified status of components across the IOBend Ecosystem:
